Jill died rather suddenly in her own bed at home this morning.

I was holding her hand having noticed her sudden deterioration.

Immediately before the District Nurse, Jill and I had been talking together.

Making things more comfortable when I noticed that she had collapsed.

"Freed from illness, Mrs. Jill Bird died at home on Saturday 17 February 2001. A lovely, lively and dignified spirit she is much missed and will always be loved by devoted husband Theo, daughters Emma and Kate, and her many friends.
