Since the split of Bleeding Hearts I had to be content with Learning Nursery Rhymes & Songs for my daughter Liana. This included Learning to Play the Acoustic Guitar (Badly) the Recorder (only slightly better) & a Keyboard (barely) so that she could join in.

With various things going on at Work & my Time being used up the Bass took a bit of a Back Seat. I will say that Playing the Bass Guitar is a little 'bit like a bike' I've never quite forgotten how, yet I was definitely getting rusty & in danger of Falling Off.

As I wasn't particularly good at Copying Other's Tunes I took the occasional Time Out to see how much I could manage. I was a little surprised at how easy this was for some Songs than others - I think this is more a reflection of their Simplicity rather than my own Talent though.

Over the Past few Years I haven't done a lot of Playing. Steve H was in a couple of Bands & Dave the Drummer joined him in the latter, Target Zero. They had a Singer who left & Vince joined a while after.

I did a couple of Stand - In Slots for a (Unnamed) Band who Played Fund - Raising Gigs for Local Charities, etc. This was more 'Traditional' Rock n' Roll (I seemed to be Travelling Back in Time with the Stuff I'm Playing ;-) They didn't seem to mind if I added a few 'Personal Touches' either.

It was quite a nice Experience as it was very relaxed atmosphere & Even got a Compliment from Mouse (a long time Friend who has seen All of the Bands I've Played in - He was even at the Very First Gig I'd ever Played). This was Unexpected Praise indeed.

As it was My Life was about to take quite a few Major Changes, Beginning a Family, Change of Job, New Home, etc...

Now I'm almost up to date.

I'm not working Shifts now, for the First Time in Years I'm doing a Mon - Fri Job. So I decided to use this Time Productively. I set myself 3 Targets;

• To get My Brain to do some Exercise
• To do something in the Environmental Area, and
• To get Playing Again

Unfortunately this clashed with the Hillingdon Friends of the Earth so I had to put that on hold. The next OU Course may Free Up Tuesday Evenings & enable me to Start Attending Again.

As for the Third 'Resolution' I'm now 'Jamming' with Steve H & Dave the Drummer, as Target Zero have Finished. There have been a few people here & there who have come along to try out a few things. We are still going with the idea that it is for Fun rather than getting involved with the hassle of gigs, etc.

If something does happen from this then so be it. If not then we'll just do it for our own Entertainment, which is, for those of a purist nature, what should be what it's all about anyway, shouldn't it?

As with a lot of things in life, I've come full circle. This time with nearly 2 decades of Experience behind me. Who knows what the next 2 will bring. As the other Steve H is still on the scene I may have to consider the idea of Predestination or even Karma ;-)

We were joined for a while by Vince (also ex - Target Zero) a few 'Guests' Popping in - mainly friends of Dave the Drummer (who turns Moonlighting, as well as Forgetfulness, into an Art Form ;-) We were getting a few numbers sorted out which sounded more Experimental than we usual, when Dave went and moved miles away and Vince's job kept him too busy to fit us in as well. So there it ends

So now I'm plodding along waiting for the next chain of events that will bring together a Group of like-minded individuals (if there are any more left, that is ;-)to let loose upon the world some more noise.

I am willing to try New or Old Ideas so long as its interesting &, even more importantly, FUN - we should all try and have a right old time of it all, after all!

My Daughter, Liana, is attempting to teach me how to sing (better? ;-) in exchanged for me teaching her to play Acoustic Guitar. I'm sure, once started, she will make a good effort and a reasonable player, I don't think my attempts at Singing will yield anywhere near the same.

Liana, is already learning Recorder, Viola and Piano, as well as being in the School Choir - My Legacy to her and the World - Don't Worry I Won't Be Trying To Live My Musical Life Through Her; I Have A Grander Plan - A World Made A Better Place Through Music, Naive, Yet Admirable - I'd Like To Think So!

Ultimately the choice will be Liana's, as it should be. I at least encourage the potential

JAN 99: First Writing of my Bass Pages, Looking for someone to do a bit of Vocals.

OCT 99: Bass Pages Updated & Re - Written.

MAY 00: Dave has moved some distance away, so we're only meeting up occasionally. Vince seems to have lost interest, I haven't seen him for some time now. So get in touch if you would like to try doing some Vocals.

JUL 00: Vince is back on the Scene & bought John (the Drummer) with him. We've only had one Rehearsal so far, we'll have to see how it Pans Out.

DEC 00: Nothing really happening, Steve H is awaiting his second child (well his partner is anyway), John (the drummer) is off somewhere. I'm trying to get something done at Work (going against the tide there a bit I think :-(

JAN 03 Life has been hectic & frantic with no time to do anything really. Things are settling down so hopefully I can get out & about a bit more, etc. Anyone got a free evening?

OCT 03: Have a new job, working long hours :-( Even less time for jamming :-( :-(

JAN 04: Jam Sessions with Carl (Bleeding Hearts), over from Hawaii, would you believe. May be more on the horizon. Even the guy at the Rehearsal Studio (Pete? I'm hopeless with names) and me remembered each other from around 5 years ago, when I was last there. I'm flattered to say the least.
