Show Cancelled By Promoter Due to
circumstances beyond Fragile's control, the date at Iron
Door on 11th of October has regrettably been cancelled. In a
development similar to that which caused the cancellation of
last year's date at the same venue, the venue management
have pulled the scheduled appearance at late notice. Once
again the band apologise to Yesfans on Merseyside for any
disappointment this repeat cancellation may cause. However,
the band are already looking for an alternative date and
venue, and hope to finally gig in the Liverpool area early
in 2002. 5th

Festival Appearance Cancelled Unfortunately
the planned appearance by Fragile at the Burbage Festival on
8th September has been cancelled due to planning and
logistical difficulties. Paul Chandler, who was responsible
for bringing Rick Wakeman to Marlborough last year, had
hoped to make Fragile's appearance the centrepiece of the
annual event. However, business commitments mean that Paul
has regretably had to direct his energies elsewhere for the
remainder of this year. Nonetheless, Fragile and Paul remain
confident of working together in the near future, and watch
this space for further developments! 18th
July Fragile
Sponsorship Deal Announced Fragile are
pleased to announce a sponsorship deal with Electro-Tech
Colour Ltd (ETC).
ETC are the UK's Leading Specialist Exhibition and Display
Company, and this sponsorship deal will enable Fragile to
deliver an enhanced visual experience at their gigs
beginning later this year. ETC will assist Fragile in
realising a stage presentation sympathetic to the pioneering
work of the Dean brothers, and support the band in its
marketing and merchandising. Speaking about
the deal Steve Carney said "its been an aspiration for
sometime to improve the quality of the live experience for
people coming to our gigs. The link up with ETC will mean we
can reach our goal of faithfully representing Yes music not
only in terms of the aural experience, but also the visuals.
We have been looking for the right deal which met our needs,
and its all the better because Neil Fraser of ETC and
associate Ray Ellis are big time Yes fans. Neil and Ray
understand what we are trying to do and are keen to help
make it happen. From our perspective its great that we can
increase awareness of ETC's fabulous services, and help Neil
and Ray with their charity activities. Its great timing with
the debut theatre date with Bullet on the horizon, and the
Fragile family just seems to grow!" Tring ETC,
ETC, ETC! The first fruit
of the new sponsorship deal with ETC has been announced in
the form of a very special appearance by Fragile on 9
November 2001 in Tring. Fragile will be playing a charity
fund raiser in aid of the Tring Tornadoes JSC, who are also
sponsored by ETC. The venue will be the Frances Elizabeth
Crystal Rooms, 58-60 High Street, Tring, Herts, and the gig
is being promoted as "An Unforgettable Evening of
Progressive Nostalgia". Fragile are pleased to be involved
in their first ever charity fund raising event, and the gig
will see the UK debut of the band's new stage show courtesy
of ETC. Tickets will
initially be restricted to local people through the Tring
Tornadoes Fund Raising Committee, but a limited number will
subsequently become available for purchase by nationally.
Ticket price will be £7.50, and information about
availability can be got from Donna Fraser on 01442 824989.

July Rick
Wakeup! Strange things
happen in Fragile land, and Steve recently visited Heathrow
Airport to pick up an American friend. At 9.00am on a Sunday
morning you don't expect to bump into anyone of
significance, so it was with some surprise and delight that
Steve came across Rick waiting for a flight to Canada. A
bigger surprise was that Rick remembered Fragile from their
meeting in Marlborough last year, and that members of Rick's
roadcrew had recently seen the band in action and given
Fragile a big thumbs-up. Steve spent an enjoyable 15 minutes
in Rick's company, and wished him well for his "Journey"
dates in Canada. Steve also saw Ilie Nastase at the airport,
but somehow it didn't carry quite the same
importance! 5th

June Stourbridge
Off! Due to
contractual difficulties beyond our control, Fragile have
had to withdraw from their scheduled appearance at the Rock
Cafe 2000 in Stourbridge on Friday July 20th. However, the
good news for Yes fans in the West Midlands is that Fragile
make their first appearance of the year at the Robin in
Dudley on Friday June 22nd. This gig will be the first of
two exclusive performances at the Robin during 2001 (the
return date is slated for Friday November 2nd). Fragile
welcome all Midlands based Yes fans to the Robin, a venue
that has become a much loved an established haunt for the
band on their travels around the UK. 30th
May Chesterfield
Show! It has been a
long-term aim of Fragile to break into doing theatre venues
with better quality shows and higher production values. The
band have teamed up with Bullet Management for the first of
what we hope will be a number of such shows at the Winding
Wheel in Chesterfield on November 29th. It should be the
biggest Fragile show to date! Full details will appear on
the gigs
page. 27th

May Bristol - No
Invisible Touch but 2.5 hours of Fragile! Due to
logistical difficulties, Invisible Touch have regrettably
had to withdraw from their scheduled appearance with Fragile
at the Fleece & Firkin, Bristol, on Saturday 16th June
2001. The problems in presenting two major progressive
tribute acts has proven more difficult than envisaged, and
the length of the bands respective sets was the key
difficulty. Arrangements at
the venue could not accommodate both acts without
substantially reducing their performance times. Invisible
Touch felt that the proposed set length of one hour could
not do justice to their show, and Fragile shared similar
concerns. Whilst this
development is a disappointment, it does now enable devotees
of progressive rock in the West of England the opportunity
to see the full two and a half hour Fragile show for the
very first time. Recent reviews of the "Going For 2001 Tour"
have acclaimed the band's performances, and Fragile are
delighted to be finally bringing the show to
Bristol. 15th
May Gypsies Of

they have resolved their licensing problems! On the 26th

May Burbage
Festival Appearance Fragile will
play at the Burbage festival on September 8th promoted by
Paul Chandler, the man behind the recent Rick Wakeman shows
in Marlborough including the live DVD recording. The
event will take place at the Burbage And Easton Royal Sports
Club and may possibly be extended to be a themed Yes event.
Full details of this exciting addition to the "Going for
2001" schedule will be forthcoming as soon as we have
them.
