Date change for second Crewe show

At the request of the promoter Fragile have agreed a change for the October date at the Limelight in Crewe. The show will now take place on Thursday October 25th, a week later than the original date. The earlier show at the Limelight is not affected in any way and goes ahead as planned on May 3rd . . . not so far away! Full details as always, on the gigs page.

A pile of new CD reviews!

There's a whole pile of CD reviews that we've been collecting and that have now been added to the site. We have comment from Glenn Cornick, the original bassist with Jethro Tull, Mike Gibbs, Colossus Magazine (in Finnish!), Stormbringer, Progressive World, Gypsymusic and More Than Music. All on the updated CD reviews page!

Southend Return!

Due to the exceptional response that Fragile have received following the recent show at Club Riga in Southend including e-mails and the reviews mentioned below the band have already announced that they will return later this year. The date for the return show is Friday November 23rd.

Southend Review Fest Continues!

The chances are that Fragile will return to Club Riga . . . we've just received a third review from the gig, this time from Guy Rickard to add to the two that we have already received. You can read them all here. As ever, many thanks to everyone who has sent reviews in, please keep them coming!

First 2001 Gig Reviewed

We have received our first review of the "Going For 2001" tour. Steve Lacey who trekked from the West Midlands to Southend to see the show has let us know how he thinks the band is doing in his review. We have also just received a second review from David Ogden, his first experience of Fragile!

More Gig News!

Stourbridge in the West Midlands is the latest town to be added to the "Going For 2001" tour schedule. Fragile will appear at the Rock Cafe 2000 on July 20th. In addition negotiations continue for more dates including Colchester and South Shields. Finally, the date at The Manor in Biggin Hill has been moved at the request of the promoter and will now take place on July 22nd.

Steve Speaks About Future Plans / Jon Pics!

Fragile have unveiled their future plans for 2001 and beyond including the official announcement of "Going For 2001" and longer term plans for 2002. You can read the full details here by Steve Carney. As an additional bonus the page about Jon now contains some new photos from decades past . . . Jon as we've never seen him before!

Time Will Tell to support Fragile at Southend

An extra bonus for enyone planning to attend the Southend show is that local progressive band Time Will Tell have been booked as support act for the show. They will perform their own original material inluenced by a number of acts including Yes.

Whitley Bay Dome Closes!

It's with regret that Fragile have learnt that The Dome in Whitley Bay appears to have gone into receivership. This is bad news for music lovers in the area and Fragile have been forced to cancel their show there scheduled for May 12th as a result of the venue's demise. This is the last thing that the band wanted and we will continue to monitor the situation with the Dome for further developments.

Colossal Gig in Finland!

Amazing things keep happening to this band! We are absolutely delighted to announce that negotiations have virtually completed for Fragile to perform at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki on August 17th 2001. Hosts for the show are the excellent progressive magazine Colossus to whom we are very grateful for the invite!

Gig News - London, The Royal Standard

Fragile have lined up their first "proper" London date of the New Year, they will appear at the Royal Standard - now considered a regular haunt - on the 21st of September.

Gig News - St Albans, Biggin Hill and Sheffield ChangeGig News - St Albans, Biggin Hill and Sheffield Change

The 2001 tour grows again! Fragile are pleased to announce new dates in St Albans (The Horn on May 24th) and Biggin Hill (The Manor on July 15th). Note also that the show in Sheffield has now been moved at the request of the venue to September 29th. A full list of shows can be found on the gigs page.

Return to the Brook in Southampton

Fragile are delighted to announce another date, following their successful show at the Brook, Southampton last year the band will return to the venue on July 6th this year. See the gigs page for full details.

Fragile at the Arsenal

Fragile have once again been booked to play as pre-match entertainment for Arsenal fans in the North Bank prior to the home game on February 10th. You'll only see the band if you have a match ticket but if you're there stop by and say "Hi!".

More dates! Manchester, Whitley Bay

Two more 2001 dates have been arranged! The band will return to The Dome in Whitley Bay on May 12th and will make their debut at The Witchwood in Ashton Under Lyne on November 10th. As ever see the gigs page for the full list of dates.

More dates! Verviers, Sheffield

We have two more gigs to tell you about. First off Fragile's much anticipated return to Belgium at the Spirit of '66 in Verviers has been arranged for April 14th. in addition the band will make their debut in Sheffield with a date at The Boardwalk. See the gigs page for the full list of confirmed and possible dates.

3rd Jan

Bristol Double Header

Fragile are delighted to announce that they are scheduled to appear at The Fleece and Firkin in Bristol on Saturday 16th June. Furthermore the show will be a special prog event with Genesis tribute act "Invisible Touch" lining up with Fragile in a "double header". We're particularly chuffed with this date because it follows the unfortunate late cancellation of last year's gig at the same venue. We'd like to thank all those that wrote to us in support of Fragile playing in Bristol because those mails helped in getting this new show setup. Expect more dates to appear on our gigs page soon!
