 Page 1: From the Spanish border with Portugal to the Gulf of Cadiz.

Marina and lighthouse at Isla Cristina. To the left is a view from Joy of Mann in the marina at Isla Cristina looking out towards the sea. We were back in Spain once more and now had the stretch from the Portuguese border to Gibraltar to traverse. Bad weather led to many delays and I made numerous sketches inside the boat ( below). To the left you can see my toes in the forward cabin and a view looking aft. At the right my husband is busy studying Spanish. Behind him are various pieces of equipment, the radio, depth sounder, emergency beacon and the Navtex from which we obtained weather forecasts.

Below you can see us sailing in the company of another yacht towards the Gulf of Cadiz. In the right hand picture, Geoff is not only on deck but also below checking the radar, an image that can only be captured in art!
