Sailing

Map of the route taken by Joy of Mann.

This map shows the route taken by 'Joy of Mann' as she was sailed around the Iberian Peninsula. The voyage was completed by spending two to three months on the boat each summer and returning home for the remainder of the year. It was divided up as follows:

1. North Devon/Plymouth to Vannes.

2. Vannes to La Rochelle (visiting numerous islands).

3. La Rochelle to La Coruna.

4. La Coruna, round Cape Finisterre and Cape St Vincent to Isla Cristina.

5. Isla Cristina, through the Straits of Gibraltar and to Kabila in Morocco, then to Aguadulce.

6. Aguadulce, to the Balearic Islands and Barcelona.

7. Barcelona to Cap d'Agde.

8. Through the Canal du Midi and the Brittany Canals to Plymouth.
