The Good News According to Matthew:
Chapter Seven

7.2-5
Jesus said: "Why do you point out a speck in your brother's eye and yet ignore the plank in your own eye? How can you say to him, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye' when you have a plank in your own? You fraud! First take the plank out of your eye and then you'll see well enough to take the speck out of your brother's eye."

7.7-8
"Ask and you'll receive. Seek and you'll find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. Trust me: All who ask, receive and all who seek, find. The person who knocks will have it opened. "

7.9-11
"Which one of you men would give your son a stone when he asks for bread? And if he were to ask for an eel, which of you would give him a snake? You wouldn't, even if you were a worthless sort of person, because you know how to give good things to your children. Isn't it more likely that the Father in the heavens will give good things to those who ask him?"

7.16
"You'll know good people by the results they produce. Thorn bushes don't bear grapes and people don't pick figs from thistles."
