The Good News According to Luke
Chapter Three

3.1-3
The word of God came to John in the wilderness in the fifteenth year of the rule of the Emperor Tiberius, when the Governor of Judea was Pontius Pilate, Herod was Tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip was Tetrarch of Iturea and Trachonitis, Lysanias was Tetrarch of Abilene, and during the priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas. He  went into all of the region around the Jordan River, calling for baptism and repentance from which forgiveness of sins comes.

3.7
Lots of people came along to be baptised by John.

3.18-20
John told the people all sorts of good news. He took Herod the Tetrarch to task in the matter of his marriage to Herodias and for the many other evils he had done. Herod capped all his other crimes by putting John into prison.

3. 21
After all the people had been baptised, Jesus was also baptised.

3.23
Jesus was about 30 years old when he began his work. He was known as the son of Joseph.
