Ten years after their old HQ was destroyed by fire, the 1st Sheldon Scouts are now well advanced in rebuilding on the same site in Ragley Drive. Situated adjacent to St Giles Church and opposite the old Rectory, once the home of Dr Thomas Bray (Rector of Sheldon 1690-1730), the location is at the heart of old Sheldon and right at the entrance to Sheldon Country Park.
The Scout Group, which has existed in Sheldon for over seventy years, includes Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venture Scouts and a Scout Fellowship for adults.
Although not fully completed, the young people now meet in the new building. The first 'Flag Break' in the new HQ took place on 3rd April 2000 :-
