CHIPPENHAM CRICKET CLUB - CODES OF CONDUCT
Chippenham Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of its members. The Committee believe that it is important that all members, coaches, administrators and parents of junior members, should at all times show respect to each other, to match officials, and to members of opposing clubs. To that end, the Committee have approved the following codes of conduct based on Sport England templates. Anyone who has cause for concern over any aspect of these codes, their observance or otherwise, should bring the matter to the attention of the Youth Coordinator Chris Sykes, the Head Coaches, Steve Dolman or Dale Bowler, the Club Chairman Bob Corke, or another member of the Committee.
Code of Conduct for Officers and Volunteer Helpers
All those acting on behalf of the Club must:
· consider the well being and safety of participants before the development of performance
· develop an appropriate working relationship with players and would be players based on mutual trust and respect
· make sure that all activities engaged in are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part
· set an example by displaying consistently high standards of behaviour themselves
· follow all guidelines laid down by the ECB and the Club
· hold appropriate qualifications and insurance cover
· never exert undue influence over players or would be players to obtain personal benefit or reward
· never condone rule violations, the abuse of officials or the use of prohibited substances
Code of Conduct for Playing Members
All members must:
· play within the laws and spirit of the laws
· respect umpires and their decisions
· respect opponents
· support the decisions of coaches and team managers
· wear suitable kit for training sessions and matches as agreed with the coach or team manager
· pay subscriptions and match fees promptly
Junior members must not:
· smoke on club premises or when representing the Club
· consume alcohol or prohibited substances on club premises or when representing the Club.
Code of Conduct for Parents/Carers
Parents and carers should:
· encourage their children to learn, and play within, the laws and spirit of cricket
· discourage unfair play and arguing with umpires and other officials
· publicly support the decisions of umpires
· publicly support the decisions of coaches and team managers
· help children to recognise good performances from their own team and from the opposition and to set an example by applauding such
· never force children to take part in sport but rather support their involvement
· never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes
· use proper language at all times
