Where is the East of England Region?The East of England Region consists of the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Local government reorganisation in the 1990's created four unitary
authorities. In these areas, there is no county council, although the
four areas remain part of the geographical counties. The four unitary areas
and their geographical counties are Luton (Bedfordshire),
Peterborough (Cambridgeshire), Thurrock (Essex) and
Southend-on-Sea (Essex). For British Horse
Society purposes, these unitary authorities are covered by
the geographical County Committees.
