Regional Map (Clickable) Where is the East of England Region?

The East of England Region consists of the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Local government reorganisation in the 1990's created four unitary authorities. In these areas, there is no county council, although the four areas remain part of the geographical counties. The four unitary areas and their geographical counties are Luton (Bedfordshire), Peterborough (Cambridgeshire), Thurrock (Essex) and Southend-on-Sea (Essex). For British Horse Society purposes, these unitary authorities are covered by the geographical County Committees.

The British Horse Society is the UK's largest and most influential equestrian charity.  Relying entirely on financial support from its members and donors and the tireless work of its volunteers, the Society is committed to the well being of horses and ponies.

As it is so important, every page features a quick link to information on joining the Society, via the Join BHS link, and the HQ Access link takes readers to the Society's Access and Rights of Way main page.  For any general questions (not related specifically to the East of England) please use the email address enquiries@bhs.org.uk.
