BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY

Introduction
The British Horse Society's East of England Region is promoting a scheme to develop a series of long distance riding routes. The historic set of routes, like the Peddars Way and the Icknield Way, will be joined by new routes like the Society's London Orbital Bridleroute.
It is planned to have at least one strategic route under development in each county within the region. Each district or borough should be working on a route to join one of the strategic routes, or be developing a circular ride. Riding clubs, bridleways associations and other riding groups will be encouraged to take over the development of the routes in their area, with help from the Society's Access Officers.
The regional routes plan will start slowly at first and lessons learned from one area's implementation will be passed to others to speed the process. This page will serve as an index to the individual route projects and any key issues found.
