Our activities which involve moving large animals, sometimes long distances have been known to attract the attention of the authorities responsible for the safe and legal use of goods vehicles. With the support of the Road Haulage Association we are pleased to announce a series of training sessions aimed directly at helping you understand and work within the various legal requirements affecting the larger vehicle. These half day courses will cover a range of relevant subjects including Drivers' Hours rules, use of tachographs, rest requirements, driver licensing, vehicle weights and carriage of horses.
Discussions will centre on clarification of different types of equestrian activity, where they fit in with the definition of “commercial” use of vehicles and the impact of legislation aimed at businesses on your leisure activities.
Each session will last approximately 3.5 hours and will cost £75.00 (+VAT). This will include course notes, certificates of attendance and teas and coffees.

13-15 & 16-18 Jul 10BHS East of England Adult summer camp, ‘Why let the children have all the fun?’ Bring your own horse on one of our summer camps and learn & have fun together, held at Forest Edge, Swaffham, Norfolk. These three day camps are aimed at all riders, the aim is to have fun while improving your riding and your horses way of going, with both lessons and hacking around the forest every day, plus lectures and much more this these camps are not to be missed, the cost is £239 and includes all lessons & lectures, stabling (incl hay & Straw), and all food for you! The camp is open to all BHS members (membership starts at just £17 for the year, that’s 32p per week) and spaces are limited, please contact Janet Pamment for more details and a booking form.
