36 MEMBERS AND ONE VISITOR CELEBRATED
AT THE ANNUAL DINNER AND PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES THIS YEAR AT THE
THURLESTONE GOLF CLUB
AWARDS PRESENTED BY RON BINKS WENT TO:
A consistent performance through out the rounds of the championship
earned David Sidwell his name on the club singles trophy when he beat
chairman John Cadman in the final. The pairs shield went to the husband and
wife combination of Pat & Sid Lamble also well known for their outdoor
bowling prowess. The triples this year went to John Cadman, Val Sandell &
Anne Sidwell while the fours was awarded to the all-family team of the
Sandells and Hawkins. Junior Matt Edmonds left the ranks of the novices by
winning the Novice Plate. Peter Sandell with Betty Goodman and Grandson Ben
won the Lavis Cup while Granddad John not to be outdone picked up the
snowball prize for the highest number of shots from any 3 of 5 charity bowls
drives this year in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance. |

KIDS TO WIN LEAGUE KO

For the first time
Stokenham win the South hams League KO trophy but Hammers
fail to avoid relegation from Division 2 while Stokers just manage to remain in
Division 1 by winning 4 of the last 5 matches played.
