With Time and Patience

Jeff Bell

It all made sense to me,
just as the mud by the river, the reeds,
 deserve to be here too.
 As we walked I gazed,
 images washed across my mind,
the worn steps on the Tiberius Bridge,
 built in 21 AD,
showed even granite like stone can be beaten
 with time and patience.
Well my approach also added to its wear and tear,
 but surely not my feet?
As I held your hand I took comfort
in knowing our bodies regenerative qualities,
will help with the future friction between our skin.
