the demolition of pym house
Leigh Avon
these yellow machines are monstrous insects
snake necks and snaggletooth mandibles
concentration making their faces indistinguishable
they devour in packs
pushing through, rending, razing,
incising and ingesting
grammar is an odd thing
the um and zu of causality is too pat
and the future tenses is far too tense
absurd and without colour
participles and gerunds tumble under the weight
of expectation
the red shirt comes off in the morning
no drunken fumbling but a drowsy falling together
- why is strabismus so sexy-unsettling, so reassuring -
honest?
collapsing into one another, merciless and tender
tearing down, tearing away, tearing through
a new construction
