Bush Fire Dreaming Bush Fire Dreaming: (1999) (129x85cm acrylic on linen)

This dreaming takes place to the west of Yuendumu. The central roundels are caves and sites in this story and the central line with parallel lines along it represents the rain that came to put the fire out. The designs along the side are plants and fires which are part of this dreaming. No further details were given.

This is a striking painting showing Leslie's excellent use of colour combined with a pleasant layout and design.

Mens Dreaming Mens Dreaming: (1999) (acrylic on linen)

This story tells the fire story again but the representation is different. You can still see the three important sites/caves. The fire is represented around these points by the "flames" shown. Also depicted are the shields, spears, woomeras and boomerangs of the two men and you can see where they have sat down (U shapes). This is sacred mens story so no further details may be given.

Again this is a magnificent painting by Leslie, using superb earth colours.
