Will of Alice Daveson (Davison) of Chapel Haddlesey 17 Apr 1660:
In the Name of God Amen I Alice Daveson of Chapple Haddlesay in the County of yorke Sicke in body but of good and perfect memory praised be God for it, doe make and ordeine this my last will and Testament the seaventeenth day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord one thousand sixe hundred and sixty in manner and forme as followes. First I give and bequeath my soule unto God my maker, Savior and Redemer in whom I trust for salvation sanctification Redemption and hopes of Glory And my body to be buried in such decent and Christian manner as my executors shall thinke most convenient and fitting And as for my temporall estate which god hath bestowed upon me I give as followes First I give unto my eldest sonne Thomas Daveson Twelve pence in full satisfaction of his Childes part and porcion Also I give unto Jane Hodgion of Selby my sister ten shillings and all my cloathes both wollen and linnen Also I give unto Sarah Cateson wife of Nicholas Cateson of Snaith five shillings Item I give unto the poore of Chapple Haddlesay five shillings All the Rest of my goods and Chattelles moveable and immoveable (my debts being paid and funerall expences discharged) I give unto Edward DavesonIur Joseph DavesonIur and John DavesonReser' my sonnes whom I make full and ioynt Executors of this my last will and Testament.

Will of John Cross of Chapel Haddlesey 13 Aug 1692:
In the name of God Amen I John Cross of Hugget in the East Riding of the County of York, yeoman, being
sick and weak in body, but off perfect mind and memory, de- novvering all former wills and Testaments formerly made by mee, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in form and manner following. Inprimis I commit my soul into the hands of my most mercifull creator, hoping in the merits of my blessed Redeemer for pardon of my sins and salvation of my soul; and I leave my body to be decently buried by my exectours in the parish Church of Huggate aforesaid, and for my worldly goods and temporal estate, I dispose as followeth, Imprimis I give to my eldest son John Cross eight oxgang of land lying in the feilds and territoryes off Huggate with all the Furby land, Todd Close with the house that is now in the possession off Georg Bransby, with the
commons and all other appurtenances to the said eight oxgang belonging, to him and his heirs forever. Item I give to my second son Georg, four oxgang of land bought off William Hardy of Wetwang, and two oxgang, by the name of Langdale, two oxgang, with all the commons and Appurtenances theretoobelonging, Item the furby Land lying in the west feild, which also was bought of the afoormentioned William Hardy, to him and his heirs forever. Item I give to my above mentioned son Georg six score sheep gates, to him and his Heirs forever. Item I give to my dear wife Ann Cross, an house bought of the aforesaid William Hardy, for her naturall life, and after her death to my son Georg and his heirs forever Item it is my will that my sons, John, Georg and William, do each of them severally pay annually to my said wife the sum of two pounds for her naturall life. Item I give to my third son William the House and garth now in the possession of Robert Threddle, with two oxgangs off land lying in seaven Rods breadth, with eigteen score sheep Gates, bought of William Kirby of Howden, to him and his heirs for ever. Item I give to my daughter Anne the sum off four score pounds, to bee paid her when shee comes to the age off twenty one years, Item I give to my sons Thomas, Michaell, and Christopher, each of them the sum of forty pounds, to bee paid at the age of twenty one years, Item I give the tuition off my three yongest sons last mentioned, to my executours, Lastly I ordain and appoint my sons JohnIur and Georg, Joynt executours of this my last will and Testament witness in mie hand and seall the thirteenth day of August in the year of our Lord.1692.
