Oh
Well
Now
Or Never
The title track from the
album is very impressive. It brings together a mixture of creative
guitar and powerful vocals. Basically this is a very good 3½
minutes. 8/10
Judge
This is a slow mellow number
which adds to the variety on the album. The lyrics used are very
clever indeed comparing the play “Romeo and Juliet” to the mistakes made
in real life. 8/10
Hurt
Me
It’s getting hard to review
the songs now without constantly going on about how good they are.
This song is better than anything done by most signed Indie bands and I
truly mean that. Love the guitar riff in the chorus! 8/10
I Feel
Fine
This number’s got a very
funky keyboard intro. Very 80’s but it works a treat. There’s
plenty of feeling involved in this song. If you ever hear it I’m
sure you’ll agree that we’ve all felt this way at one point. 8½/10
Shut
Your Eyes
This song could almost be
about colour blindness, but I don’t believe it is. It’s truly hard
to find a definition, but I’m sure there is one. Still, a great song.
7/10
Time
Will Heal
As a huge Radiohead fan I
believe a song should be written from deep feeling and emotion, and “Time
Will Heal” is up there with songs like “The Bends,” “Fake Plastic Trees”
and “No Surprises.” Bow down to a god-like song. Best on the
album. 10/10
Fallen
The last song is a heavy
rock track with simply one of the best guitar solos ever. Only the
one in “Smells Like Teen Spirit” beats it. You’re in the presence
of genius. It’s better live, I have to say, but that doesn’t put
me off it. Simply excellent. 9½/10
Middleman’s CD “Now Or Never” is kept in my CD rack alongside “OK Computer,” “The Bends” and “This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours”... that’s how highly I rate it. If you haven’t got a copy, you’re missing out. It’s Unique, original and very, very impressive.
