Diflunisal (Dolobid) NSAIDs

INDICATION

A medication used to reduce pain, fever, and inflammation.

SIDE EFFECTS

Rash, itching, sweating, dry mouth, inflammation of the mouth, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, gas, constipation, indigestion, ringing in the ears, visual disturbances, headache, insomnia, dizziness, and drowsiness.

INTERACTIONS and PRECAUTIONS

  1. Aspirin and antacids can decrease the effects of Diflunisal.
  2. Oral anticoagulants (Warfarin) and thrombolytic agents may have increased effects.
  3. Sulindac may have decreased effects.

USUAL DOSE

Adults: oral, 250-500 mg two times a day.

Paediatrics: dosage not established.
