Hi! We are the Jamieson family and we live in Stenhousemuir, Larbert, Scotland. Stenhousemuir is known for toffee, as the McCowans factory is there, also Stenhousemuir Football Club appears on the television every week with football scores. Slightly less well known is Stenhousemuir Cricket Club and the Tryst Golf Club.
The Annual Tryst, which is now a funfair, but used to be a market, when farmers from all over Scotland used to drive their animals here to sell. Rob Rob McGregor used to bring his animals down here to sell at the Tryst market. Tryst means meeting place.
Carron works is also close by, where the cannons were made to fight in the Napoleonic wars. Although the factory is virtually closed now, the old clock tower still stands showing some of the cannons underneath.
Bruce of Kinnaird who discovered the source of the Blue Nile lived around here as well and he was buried in the graveyard at Larbert Old Church.
Larbert Old Church graveyard had a visit one night from the bodysnatchers Burke and Hare. But they were caught.
Recent research also suggests that King Arthur lived around here. For more information on Larbert and Stenhousemuir, try this link.

Hi this is a picture of me with my great grandfather when I was only a week only. Born in Aberdeen Maternity hospital on 27th February 2001. I moved to Stenhousemuir, Rhu and back to Stenhousemuir. I go to toddler group and have 3 teeth. I'm certainly the cutest of this lot and not the messiest? |
I'm hopeful that in the near future they will add their own pages and information to this web site.
