War planes roar above while below an oak's green membrane i look for the solitary whistling bird that sings in a complex of leaves and cannot be seen from 'the embrace' Here at Penlanlas we breed Section D Welsh Cobs , some of our stock are available to good homes and at very reasonable prices. Below is my stallion Griffiths and two of his offspring. Morgan, a colt foal on the left, being feed at the box, a 'getting use to' process, and Myfanwy, a filly foal with her dam. These are typical of the quality foals we produce. We are a small specialised stud so young stock numbers are limited.
We also stock Llanwenog sheep, a rare breed of some quality. Docile in nature, with a willingness to stay 'where put', they are classed as a semi lowland sheep. Their wool is of the highest rating and they can also be milked. Below is our ram, a prize winner at the Royal Welsh show. Also pictured are part of our flock, former national prize winners with the Llanwenog breed society.
And if you are wondering why they're in the corner here's the reason. 'Megan Too' pictured as a pup and at six months. She is a rare Welsh Sheepdog (not to be confused with a border collie). The breed was on the brink of extinction but is now steadily seeing a revival. We intend to breed from her at a later date, again her offspring will only be available to good 'suitable' homes.
