February 28 Update

  • The lineup for the March 10 interpromotional AJW/LLPW show has once again been modified slightly, with one new undercard matches added. As it stands now, the lineup is Shinobu Kandori vs. Yumiko Hotta (WWWA Title); Kaoru Ito vs. Junko Yagi; Eagle Sawai vs. ZAP T; Rumi Kazama, Noriyo Tateno, Harley Saito & Yasha Kurenai vs. Manami Toyota, Takako Inoue, Kumiko Maekawa & Momoe Nakanishi; Keiko Aono & Megumi Sato vs. Miho Wakizawa & Kayo Noumi (All Japan Tag); Carol Midori & Sayuri Okino vs. Nanae Takahashi & Miyuki Fuji; Miho Watabe vs. ZAP Isozaki.

  • LLPW and AJW have a combined tournament of some sort beginning on March 10. Draw is:
    Junko Yagi --------
                        |- Yagi
    BYE ----------------

    Miho Watabe --------
                        |-
    ZAP Isozaki --------

    Megumi Sato --------
                        |-
    Miho Wakizawa ------

    Keiko Aono ---------
                        |-
    Kayo Noumi ---------

    Nanae Takahashi ----
                        |-
    Sayuri Okino -------

    BYE ----------------
                        |- Nakanishi
    Momoe Nakanishi ---

  • Lineup for the March 14 All Japan women's Korakuen Hall show is ZAP I & ZAP T vs. Mima Shimoda & Etsuko Mita (Neo Ladies/GAEA); and Miho Wakizawa vs. Megumi Sato; Junko Yagi vs. Miho Watabe or ZAP Isozaki and Momoe Nakanishi vs. Sayuri Okino or Nanae Takahashi in tournament matches.

    February 25 Update

  • JWP have changed more of their wrestler's names. In addition to Kanako Motoya now being 'Kana Mizaki', Rieko Amano is now known as 'Carlos Amano'. Tomoko Kuzumi, Tomoko Miyaguchi, Tomiko Sai, Yasuko Kuragaki and several others have also got new names. Calling Rieko Amano 'Carlos' seems like a really bad idea to me... Maybe Dynamite Kansai can shave her head and become Dynamite Austinberg.

  • An amended and much improved lineup has been released for the February 28 Kawasaki Oz Academy show. The new main event is Mayumi Ozaki vs. Mima Shimoda which should be excellent, I believe it is the first time they have ever met in singles. Other matches are Toshiyo Yamada & Meiko Satomura vs. Sugar Sato & Chikayo Nagashima; Toshiyo Yamada & Meiko Satomura vs. Aja Kong & Rieko Amano; Sugar Sato vs. Devil Masami; and the returning Kaori Nakayama vs. Chikayo Nagashima. Devil vs. Sugar will probably suck because Devil doesn't like having to make young wrestlers look good, and Sugar has sharply fallen lately. The rest of the show should be excellent.

    February 19 Update

  • Lineup for ARSION on March 6 is Candy Okutsu, Ayako Hamada & Mika Akino vs. Aja Kong, Mari Apache & Fabi Apache; Mariko Yoshida vs. Yumi Fukawa; Reggie Bennett & Rie Tamada vs. Mikiko Futagami & La Galactica 2000 and Michiko Ohmukai vs. Emiko Kado.

  • ARSION's lineup for the March 7 show is Rie Tamada, Michiko Ohmukai & Yumi Fukawa vs. Candy Okutsu, Ayako Hamada & Mika Akino; Aja Kong vs. Reggie Bennett; Mikiko Futagami & La Galactica 2000 vs. The Apache's; Mariko Yoshida vs. Emiko Kado.

  • March 14 ARSION lineup is Aja Kong, Mariko Yoshida & Reggie Bennett vs. Rie Tamada, Michiko Ohmukai & Yumi Fukawa; Ayako Hamada & Mika Akino vs. The Apache's; Mikiko Futagami vs. La Galactica; Candy Okutsu vs. Emiko Kado.

  • ARSION are at Tokyo, Korakuen Hall on March 16, matches are Mariko Yoshida, Mikiko Futagami & Reggie Bennett vs. Rie Tamada, Yumi Fukawa & Michiko Ohmukai; Candy Okutsu vs. Mika Akino; Aja Kong & La Galactica vs. The Apache's; Ayako Hamada vs. Emiko Kado.

    February 16 Update

  • AJW are holding their "Revenge 99" show on February 28. Matches announced so far are Kumiko Maekawa vs. ZAP Isozaki; and Yumiko Hotta, Manami Toyota & Takako Inoue vs. Momoe Nakanishi, Nanae Takahashi & Miho Wakizawa. Yumiko Hotta

  • Weekly Pro reported the complete lineup for the joint All Japan Womens/LLPW show on March 10 as Shinobu Kandori vs. Yumiko Hotta (pictured) for the WWWA title; Junko Yagi vs. Kaoru Ito; Eagle Sawai vs. ZAP T; Rumi Kazama, Harley Saito, Noriyo Tateno & Yasha Kurenai vs. Manami Toyota, Takako Inoue, Momoe Nakanishi & Kumiko Maekawa; Megumi Sato & Keiko Aono vs. Miho Wakizawa & Kayo Noumi for the All Japan Tag; and Carol Midori & Sayuri Okino vs. Nanae Takahashi & Miyuki Fuji. I guess that in exchange for Kandori jobbing the WWWA title back to Hotta, Toyota and the girls will probably lose their match, and Yasha won't have to job the All Pacific title back to Maekawa.

  • Two matches tonight ended with rare disqualification finishes. Shinobu Kandori & Junko Yagi of LLPW visited All Japan Womens to build up the forthcoming WWWA title match between Kandori and Hotta. Yagi & Kandori were disqualified after 15:15 against Hotta & Miho Wakizawa. In Jd', Shark Tsuchiya was disqualified less than five minutes into her match with Cooga. For more details see the results page.

  • JWP's Kanako Motoya was renamed to 'Kana Mizaki' for the start of the tournament that is running to determine the top contender to the JWP Open Weight title. Kanako, who has also dyed her hair blonde, won her first match under the new name, getting a big win over Tomoko Miyaguchi with La Mahistral.

  • Lineup for LLPW's show at Korakuen Hall on February 26 is Shinobu Kandori & Noriyo Tateno vs. Harley Saito & Junko Yagi; Rumi Kazama, Keiko Aono & Megumi Sato vs. Eagle Sawai, Shark Tsuchiya & Carol Midori; and Miho Watabe vs. Sayuri Okino.
