How'd you get up there

Every year they put a pair of swans in the pond where I work. I happened to catch these little guys playing with Momma when they were a couple of days old. Did a little cropping and some sharpening. Not sure how the color will come out since my monitor is starting to work funny. Hope the green is green like the print and not blueish like my monitor.

Members Comments.

John Hackett A very well seen and executed image. The adult seems to be totally uninterested in the humorous scene at her back.
Pat Gordy What a wonderful image of mother and offspring bonding. I like the composition – with the mother at a diagonal and her beak pointing downward toward the little ones who are looking up, the eye constantly moves over the subjects. Good detail shows in the feathers too. The grass serves as a backdrop. Overall, I think you have a great image here!

John Parker This is a really cool shot! The detail in the swan's neck & the goslings is very good. The reeds really are green on my monitor. The only thing that would make this image really rock is if the wing feathers weren't quite so "hot". Nice job Marti!!
Bob Athanasiou Nice shot, Marti! Being in the right place at the right time is a great thing. This is a really cute shot and it stands up all by itself.

Biography of Marti Buckely

I've been involved with photography for longer than I can remember owning 35mm mostly (Mamiya, Minolta, and Canon) along with a Polaroid. Landscapes, nature and sports are my dominant themes though I also like animals (especially dogs and horses) and travel. I had done a couple of commissioned shoots for show horses back a few years ago.

In October of 2003, I purchased the Canon 10D and have gotten heavily into digital. It's my goal to learn more about Photoshop and be able to manipulate pictures as well as learn to process RAW shots properly.
I'm looking forward to giving and receiving the critiques and seeing everyone else's work.

Previously a member of the Des Plaines, IL Camera Club, I am now a member of Garden Photo Club based at the Chicago Botanical Garden. I have been a winner at CACCA (Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association) including a Slide of the Month. I'm looking forward to getting more involved in PSA and hope to enter some competitions soon.
