Hotel Cheyenne

This has to be one of the best hotels to stay at if you're a kid. Cosy (quite small) but adequate rooms spread throughout 14 two storey lodges provide an intimate and exciting feel in the immaculately reconstructed cowboy town - hotel. The use of bunk beds for the kids is a nice touch, quite apart from letting the hotel rooms become slightly smaller!

Dining is in a cavernous barn-type construction with single long tables at which anything up to 40 people at a time sit to eat. There's no bell service and it can be a bit of a struggle with suitcases and young kids but sometimes the cast will help out of the goodness of their hearts. Sometimes. There's also a nice play area for the kids in the shape of an Indian village and a fort. A small souvenire shop also sells drinks and sweets and there's a 'saloon' with live entertainment in the evenings. If you decide to walk into the park on cold days, take a shortcut through the 'ranch house' outbuildings which are all heated!
