The Sussex County Netball Association, as well as funding a part-time Development Officer (Helen Willard), it also works in conjunction with AENAs South East Development Officer, CAWS (CoAching for Women in Sport) and the National Coaching Foundation to increase the knowledge and skills of active and prospective coaches. Details of the current coaching qualifications (Levels 1, 2 & 3) are set out in the AENA Handbook.
DUTY OF CARE -As part of our funding from Sport England (Formally the Sports Council), All England was required to develop and implement a policy setting out its arrangements for ensuring the care of all young people involved in activities organised by any affiliated club, league or local association. Copies of the "ANEA Duty of Care Guidelines" have been circulated to all clubs with registered participants under 16 years of age. If you think you should have a copy of the guidelines please speak to Netball House (01462 442344).
Below are details of the courses available during the current season:
Level 1 - It is planned to run a Level 1 course in the Worthing/Bognor Regis area during the 2001/2. If you'd like details, mail me.
Level 2 - Late March/Early April in the Worthing Area. From feedback received after previous courses the County will be running a "Bridging Course" about 4 weeks prior to the start of the Level2 programme (3 Sundays at 2 week intervals). Although active coaches should have no difficulty in organising the necessary sessions to gain their Level 2 Award a number felt that they would have been better prepared if they had some insight to what was required of them. Teachers in particular found it difficult to fit the necessary sessions at short notice into already full school schedules. If you'd like details, mail me
