| Let's get
to the point of this home page. As you can see from the above, I'm pretty
boring so, apart from the brief introduction above to establish that I
am not the well known composer of light classical music, this page is not
about me.
It's a link to the Woolverstone Hall Old Boys Association(WHOBA) web site run fromJapan!byTony Boys (Berners 1962-1969). Drop in on the site and you'll be amazed. Whether you loved it, hated it, or a bit of both, there is little doubt that Woolverstone Hall represented British State Education at its best in a social experiment, the results of which, in retrospect, were entirely predictable but unfortunately for our successors is never likely to be repeated. If you are an Old Woolverstonian or ever had any connection with the school we want to hear from you. |

contact me by email at <eric.coates@which.net> or send a message to Roger Friend at <fleetcom@cwcom.net> Roger (Johnstons 1958-1964) edits the occasional (about four monthly) Janus magazine Either way you will be added to the mailing list and sent the latest edition of janus, the WHOBA magazine. |
| There is no fixed subscription. In fact, there is no formal membership scheme; we'd rather hear from you and about you than take your money and with about 400 on the mailing list we make ends meet. It's a hobby and labour of love but if you are not too hard up a small financial contribution would help to make the magazine even bigger and better! What we really want are written contributions. The lengthy, detailed or even controversial are welcome on the website and can easily be published in full so the Internet is the better medium for in-depth material. Janus will, of course, always be the medium for the largely pre-computer age audience. It is intended that Janus will feed off the website material and thereby ensure regular and interesting editions whilst being accessible anywhere in the world where you have access to the Net thus saving the cost of printing and postage where possible. |
