Products · PID (Personnel Identification Device)
The PID from Sonic Engineering is a rugged, self contained flashing beacon for darkroom safety applications. The device is fully sealed and waterproof and dimensions are 20x30x30 millimetres excluding the LED. Power is provided by a built-in Lithium Manganese Dioxide battery with a shelf life of 10 years. At the standard intensity and flash rate of 2 flashes per second, battery life is greater than 3 years continuous operation. Various options are available including variable intensity, variable flash rate, on-off switch and a range of LED colours from 525 to 660 nanometres. The LED has a specially shaped lens which gives uniform light output over a wide angle. Optional mounting methods include screw holes for attachment to solid surfaces or Velcro pad or safety pin fixing for attachment to garments. Cylindrical miniature and flat types are also available. The example shown in the above picture is the standard type with mounting holes, variable intensity and variable flash rate. PID’s are manufactured to order in any quantity and the current price list follows. PID PRICE LIST Quantity pricing for
basic fixed brightness PID's is as follows:-
The following options are available at extra cost
as indicated:-
The available colours include 525, 555, 565, 585, 590, 600, 605, 615, 620, 635, 650, 660nm and others on request. Standard flash rate is 2 flashes per second. Delivery is normally within 2 weeks from purchase order depending on quantity. Order code consists of letters PID followed by 3 digit colour wavelength in nanometres followed by suffix letters if applicable. (e.g. PID585HVL is the order code for 585nm with nickel plated brass bushed holes, variable brightness and on/off flying lead.) Please note that some of the above options are mutually exclusive (e.g. E/H/B/P/T; D/T; S/L; M/F, etc.) The above information is correct from 1st Jan 2008 but is subject to change without notice.
