Who Are We?
Anne McDonald Conductor

Anne McDonald was born in Cleethorpes and studied at the Birmingham School of Music, where she studied singing, viola, piano and conducting.  There she gained her ARCM and ABSM diplomas.

Miss McDonald has had numerous professional engagements as a soloist, with performances in cathedrals and on radio.  She has performed in the Royal Albert Hall and the Festival Hall, and has also toured Europe.

Before becoming conductor of the Peterborough Choral Society, Miss McDonald conducted and trained numerous other choirs, some of which performed under the baton of Sir David Willcocks, Sir Charles Groves and Dr Donald Hunt.

The Choir

The Peterborough Choral Society was formed in January 1991 by a group of singers who considered there was a need for a society in the City of Peterborough to sing works from the great choral tradition. It aims to be one of the best in the Eastern Arts area, and works towards performing three major works each year.
