The Horsforth Mile

On the afternoon of the Saturday after May Day we often dance the Horsforth Mile, a traditional bridegroom's stag night excursion covering one and a half miles and visiting 9 or 10 pubs. We dance the mile and a half in procession and put on a show at each pub. In 2000 we performed 50 different dances (for a list click here) to mark our 50th anniversary and collected over £1000 for Wheatfields Hospice in the process.

We plan to dance the Horsforth Mile again on 7th May 2005, this time doing it backwards (ie, uphill) and only doing 6 shows, due to old age! The programme is (probably):
11.30 am The Fleece Map of Horsforth Mile
12.15 pm The Old Kings Arms
1.00 pm Town Street Tavern
2.30 pm Roos Court
3.15 pm The Queens Arms
4.00 pm The Fox and Hounds
