The Fool and The Horse

The Fool

The Leeds Morris Fool wears a black top hat, black tail coat with appliqueed owl on the back, white shirt and club baldrick, black trousers and odd burgundy and green socks. He brandishes an inflated bladder (real, smelly) and a cow's tail. Moss Ambrose has developed the Lord of Misrule role to an outstanding degree and has become a major nuis... sorry point of contact between dancers and audience, acting as announcer, collector in chief and general distraction when things aren't going as well as they might.

The Horse

The Horse is called Dick. He is black, with snapping teeth, bulging eyes and flared nostrils, and wears a man in a black cloak. Intended at first to be sinister, Dick has acquired a well developed sense of mischief and quirky sense of humour, and enjoys acting in our bite-sized "Dick Speech" Mummers Play, as he often gets to be kissed by virgins (an honorary title in many cases).
