Health

I have tried to say as little as possible about health during our trip. Nobody was seriously unwell, but discussions of pooh patterns, begun at the orientation, were frequent. (As indeed were the poohs.)
Paul and Carolyn won ‘Iron Stomach’ awards for being the only two unaffected by the food and water in Garsen, although Carolyn is under investigation for taking illegal substances. (Her anti-malarial helps prevent diarrhoea.)
Most of the team were on Larium, which given the drugs’ reputation, may explain the sanity (or should that be insanity?) of some of the team members. It may also explainlion3.jpg (230005 bytes) Claire and Alison’s visit by a lion in the middle of the night.Nobody got malaria during our trip, but Nicola and Claire were taken to the hospital for check-ups, just in case.

Nicola had a virus (6 August) and Claire had food poisoning or dysentery (18 August). Both were much better by the time they went home.

Was this really in Malindi?
