Sausages and PB sandwiches for breakfast. Two members of the team had to get up an hour early to make the sandwiches in a two-slice sandwich toaster, according to our meal rota. I met with Alison to discuss how things were going.
After lunch, we went to the talent show at SCREAM. It was really a finale to the term’s Saturday Club for children who lived on the estate, but the SCREAM kids joined in too. Part of the reason was to show the local children that life on the street was not something they should ever consider. After a selection of songs, memory verses, jokes and the previous evening’s skit and dance, we played games in the garden, splitting into the younger children and the teenage SCREAM boys.

We had a relaxing evening and a late meal. We decided to do the first Tearfund Bible Study on Poverty, but people were tired and we had to finish fairly early as some of us still had to prepare for the next day’s Youth Service.
