We got up late and had a slow, lazy breakfast, talking to Francis.
We shopped in Nairobi for souvenirs, calling at a church that sells
souvenirs to raise money for missionary work, before travelling to a really cheap souvenir
outlet in a shopping arcade. After lunch, we had a time in small groups for reflection and
a discussion of reverse culture shock. We packed our own things and then helped move
things around for the official opening of the Sheepfold Centre, the following day.
Meanwhile, some of our team, lead by Nicola, cooked dinner for the Sheepfold staff. As a
change from ugali and rice, we gave them shepherds pie and apple crumble with
custard. The Transform Team all wrote in each others diaries, before leaving for the
airport, wearing our SCREAM t-shirts. The flight home was, thankfully, uneventful. We flew
through the night, circling London just after sunrise, before landing safely at Heathrow.
There was time for one last photo call, before we all went our own separate ways, ready to
bore our friends with our stories. |
