The directors of Foxton Shop have decided that the business will close early in the New Year. Last month we reported encouraging business, thanks to the efforts of June Newnham and her helpers. They have struggled hard to succeed and the village owes immense gratitude to them. However the decision to close has for long been hovering and thus comes as no surprise to many villagers. However, the Post Office are taking steps to establish a Community Post Base in the village to succeed when the shop finishes. There is now no daily store in any of the Chronicle villages outside Kibworth Beauchamp.
