| PERKINS | I am seeking information on the Perkins family from Deeping St James, near Bourne. They were cordwainers, or shoemakers, who lived there circa 1750-1850. George Perkins and his parents are shown as John and Elizabeth on his baptism record and I believe that his brothers, William, Matthew and Samuel, were all born in Deeping St James along with two sisters, Elizabeth and Sarah. However, their parents are shown as John and Hannah who were married in Nottingham in 1810 and a first son, John, was born there in 1811. I believe the father was originally from Deeping St James and possibly his parents too and that the new family moved back there in 1812. The discrepancy regarding Elizabeth or Hannah has proved difficult but the census of 1851 shows two sons of John (born 1811) staying with George in Birmingham and listed as nephews. Any help would be appreciated. |

| TURPIN | Elizabeth Ann Turpin was born on 21st October 1861 at Careby, near Bourne. Her parents were Joseph Turpin and Fanny Berry who came from outside of the area. In the 1861 census, soon after Joseph and Fanny were married, they were recorded as staying at the Bertie Arms Inn at Barnack. Joseph Turpin was the whipman of the Cottesmore Hunt around 1860 before he moved the family to Ireland around 1863. I would like to hear from anyone with information about the people or places mentioned. |

| WALKER | I am trying to trace my late father's brother, Raymond William Walker, thought to have been an architect for Lincoln City Council during the 1930s or 1940s. He was born in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, in 1902, son of John and Elizabeth Walker, but no further details are known although there may have been a Bourne connection. Any information would be gratefully received. |

| WALKER | The Walker family of Aslochton, near Bingham, Nottinghamshire, married into the Quincey line from Rippingale, near Bourne. As a large and fairly wealthy family, they spread into surrounding businesses at Stamford and probably Bourne which is evident from a 19th century trade directory that features many Walkers as merchants in those areas. I would be pleased to hear from anyone researching the name Walker and willing to exchange details from my huge amount of data and hopefully link up with any families. I am also interested in hearing from anyone with the name Quincey. |
