Friday 13         Blue Lias to below Bascote locks - poured with rain through last lock

Saturday 14    Bascote Locks and up the Hatton Flight with Still Waters.  Moored past bridge 63 and ate at the   Tom o' the Wood pub - the boys were very hungry.  Mainly sunny but poured with rain half way up the Hatton flight

Sunday 15      Started trip to Stratford going down the Lapworth locks.  Lunch at Fleur de Lys and then moored at Wilmcote between bridges 59/59

Monday 16      Early start today as we wanted to get to Stratford by lunch.  Going was very slow today and arrived at Stratford by 1222.  Boys has Big Macs for lunch and we ate at new Italian opposite the basin.  Aurora moored next to us as Basin was very busy.  Had hail in the evening.

Tuesday 17     Late start from Stratford due to heavy rain but allowed stock filling for food etc.  Eventually left about 1230 and headed for Wilmcote again.  Moored in same place as Sunday and it rained very hard in evening

Wednesday 18 Set off at 0800 as we wanted to pump out at Wooten Wawen which was reached at 0930.  Went through Kingswood Jnc and up Knowle flight (very few boats) to moor south of Solihull (br 75/76)

Thursday 19    Early start at 0715 to get to Birmingham and Camp Hill before the hooligans are awake.  Had breakfast at top of Camp Hill before going down and through Garrison locks as well.  Joined Birmingham and Fazeley canal at 1300 but very few boats around.  Some rain about but not too bad.  Moored by Dog & Doublet pub which looked good although we ate onboard after liquid appetisers

Friday 20         Short trip to Fazeley Junction where Freddy's mum and dad joined us for day before taking two crew home. - lazy day showing then what canal boating is about.

Saturday 21     Fazeley to Atherstone flight and moor at Br 36 - hot sunny day

Sunday 22        Onto Marston Junction and up the Ashby - very quiet and serene but no locks.  moored by Br 32/33 after stopping for lunch by Br 5 - a late end at 1935

Monday 23        Joined by Sister and family today by Br 52 at 0930 after early start at 0710.  Went to end of Ashby to turn and then lunch by pub at Br 52 - but liquid only as no food on Monday lunch time.  Had late lunch by Br 37 where a picnic table was conveniently placed.  Left Sister at B34 and moored just beyond there.

Tuesday 24         Shortish day today as we went on to Ansty and had dinner at the Rose & Castle (?) which was very good and filling.  Lots of Duckweed around today and wet exhaust filter had to be cleaned several times

As you can see - lots of Duckweed

Wednesday 25        Aimed to stop at Tescos in Rugby for supplies and indeed this is what we did.  Stopped longer than planned due to lots of rain in the afternoon.  Had onboard dinner when moored by Br 103/104

Thursday 26         Slow journey back towards Blue Lias.  Very busy around Braunston with great care needed.  Very busy at Calcutt as well with four boats waiting for services.  On to the Boat Inn for dinner and final drinks after doing the cleaning.

Friday 27         Back into marina and then home - boo hoo - here's to next trip which may be in December.
