Due to rent rises The Hat in it's present incarnation is due to close.
It will probably close in April now not March
and the last day will be Easter Sunday 04

Not a style bar, more a way of life,
The Hat & Feather is Bath's original underground hangout.

You'll meet people from Barcelona to Pokhara who say: "Bath? Yeah, I went in a pub
there, Hat & Feather, do you know it?" - that is if they didn't used to work there too...
The Hat & Feather ('The Hat' to the locals) is the kind of pub legends are made of
or at least tall stories.
ITCHY BATH 2002 says:
"No
Visit to Bath is complete without taking at least one drink at the Hat.
You won't be able to stop at one.You know that and i know that, and so does da management.
This pub is seriously packed every night of the week. It's a strange old place with a rigorous line up of
entertainment, but if your're in the city during the week then you have to get down there on a
Wednesday
and catch DJ Derek. The guy is a locallegend.
This is Bath entertainment at it's best. And while your there check the wild display on the ceiling.
With a pool table upstairs a bohemian crowd and great music, it's a fantastic place......"

Yup, we do a bit of music every night of the week everything we can
think of the music's something we're particularly
proud of, DJs and live.

Hat DJs tend to be famous for more than just playing the Hat, and most of the
Bath big names, spinners & producers (yes even the famous international ones),
have been residents at one time or another.

We put on bands because we like them, not just 'cos we think it would get some
more punters in we put on open sessions 'cos we know that's
where real music and real musicians start off.

The beer's Courage plus local guests like Abbey Ales' superlative Bellringer,
and lagers (bottled Budvar is the street favourite),
the rolls veggie & vegan, the spirits arcane & dangerous.
